These little scanners have a cult following and you can understand why when you look at the specs:
Frequency Range: 530 kHz to 1650 MHz (0.53 – 1.65 GHz).
Modes: AM, NFM, WFM, LSB, USB – yes sideband!
Memory: 1000 channels.
Sensitivity: Better than 1µV on most bands.
Fast scanning (up to 30 channels/sec) and good reception, especially with good antennas.
This one is sporting a few extras – side toggle switch and a hole in the side with an RCA socket – go figure!
